Meursault Philippe Chavy | Burgundy, France | One of Katie’s absolute favourites! Those Burgundian wines! Elegant and opulent, woody, warm and musky vanilla oatmeal, roasted peach, overripe pear, a layer of savouriness, pastry, toasty butteriness, all beautifully balanced with lifted floralaty. Magical.
Tidal Bay, Benjamin Bridge | Nova Scotia | We are OBSESSED with Nova Scotian wines! Tidal Bay is a Nova Scotian appellation that must be produced from only Nova Scotian grapes. This absolutely beautiful wine is a stunning representation of this style and the elegancy coming out of the Maritimes unique terroir. On the nose, key lime, green apple sorbet and wild flower blossoms with complex under layers of sea spray and flint. The vibrant acidity immediately invigorates the palate, with echoing hints of honeydew melon, lemon rind and acacia honey. Lovely!
2019 Overlook Chardonnay | California | Landmark Vineyards. A lush fruity start with aromas of lemon, apple, stone fruit & grilled pineapple. Warmer notes of toasted oak, vanilla, chamomile & lemon curd balance out for a bright fresh & lemony finish. Romantic and delicious.
2017 Pinot Gris Reserve | Alsace, France | Trimbach. This beautiful Alsatian wine is not your basic pinot gris ~ ripe & harmonious, with aromas of peaches and pears, notes of smoke and tropical fruit. A rich, fragrant, well-balanced wine, with a dry, slightly nutty finish. So darn pretty!
Favella Falanghina DOC Danimi | Italy | Straw yellow, fresh and fruity with citrus, pineapple and white flower notes and lively acidity balanced by the structure of the wine.
Zibbbo Secco Mandrarossa Costadune | Sicily, Italy | Intense aromas and flavours of orange blossom, citrus and white peach. Fresh and balanced with mineral notes and a long, pleasing finish.
Gewurztraminer Paul Zinck | Alsace, France | We love this very aromatic, off dry, playful Gewurz with layered fruity and floral notes of lychee, blossom, honey, apricot, dried ginger and clove. Beautiful silky mouthfeel, interesting and layered with an elegant, short finish. Lovely.
Pouilly Fume | Loire Valley France | Long, smooth and creamy. Toasty, oaky, apple and grassy and green notes, citrusy and floral, with that sexy Loire Valley minerality layering in earthiness, flint and boxwood.
Sauvignon Blanc, White Haven | Marlborough, New Zealand | Bright and vibrant with punchy acidity and graceful balance. A clean, classical representation of this style with green, grassy and gooseberry aromas plus notes of white peach and grapefruit, dry and crisp with a zesty lime finish. Easy and delightful!
